What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a strong externally and internally threaded titanium post. Titanium is used to fabricate dental implants because it is uniquely compatible with jawbone. After placement of a dental implant, jawbone materials bond to the titanium, securing the two together. Once the dental implant has sufficiently bonded to the jawbone, the dental implant can be used to support dental devices which look and feel natural and may last a lifetime with proper care.

We have added a professional interactive 3D video within this site to help educate potential dental implant patients about most aspects of what the dental implant procedure involves. Other subjects include risks of not replacing teeth, and explanations of various bone grafting procedures.
